Villa Heliconia is a stunning private three-bedroom villa set in a large, lush tropical garden in the village of Penestanan, just a pleasant twenty-minute walk from the centre of Ubud or 10 minutes if you go by car.

The villa and garden are totally secluded and secure, fully surrounded by a high stone wall. The property is on a six hundred square metre block, three times the size of many other villas in the area. Villa Heliconia is situated one hundred metres down a lane off the main street of Penestanan.

Antique carved doors lead from the lane way into a slice of paradise offering a relaxing and rejuvenating break. Whether you laze in the thatched gazebo, swim in the sparkling pool, siesta peacefully on the daybed in the living area or choose a book from our small library to read , this is your villa to enjoy in complete seclusion.

Within the tropical garden there are many heliconia plants and the villa gets its name from these magnificent plants. There is a gazebo in the garden where you can relax on the daybed. The ten metre swimming pool is right next to the living area and bedrooms, perfect for a swim at any time of the day or night. There are sun lounges beside the pool when you can also relax. The villa consists of high-quality fittings offering a luxury home away from home and includes
recycled teak furniture, statues and artwork. The owners visit several times a year and ensure that everything is well maintained.

Villa staff will meet you when you arrive and carry your luggage down the path. They will reappear to make your breakfast at a pre-arranged time, discreetly clean and tidy the villa and pool. Penestanan is a lively farming village with many good inexpensive restaurants, cafes, food shops, motor bike hire and magical spas. Tourists are well catered for but there are still many more local people than visitors. There are endless small paths to explore through the village and surrounding rice fields. Morning walks are an ideal way to discover the quiet back-roads to neighbouring villages.

Many of our past guests have become annual guests, returning to enjoy the pleasures of this villa.

Villa Indah is just a short 5 to 10 minute paved walk to numerous great cafes, restaurants, yoga studios and boutiques and is only a short drive or a 20 minute walk from Ubud’s vibrant centre, where you can explore art galleries, traditional markets and world-class dining.

A fruit salad and egg breakfast is provided daily prepared to your liking by the friendly villa staff. Staff will attend to your rooms and all cleaning. They will transport your luggage to and from the villa. They are also a rich source of local information.

Villa Bindi is a spectacular retreat. This villa has 3 bedrooms, each with ensuite bathrooms, an open plan living room, dining room and kitchen plus a 10m pool, sunbeds and a Balinese Bale beside the pool. 100m from the road it is private & quiet.

Villa Bindi is located 100 meters from the road down a private walking and bike lane. This ensures peace and privacy away from traffic noise as well as magnificent valley views. These views can be enjoyed from all living areas in the villa.

There are 3 terraces and pergolas where you can relax and have some private time.

Villa Mangga is a magnificent, private three-bedroom villas located 100m down a lane off Jalan Raya, Penestanan Kelod. Once you step through the carved wooden entrance doors of Villa Mangga you are transported to your private and secure personal tropical paradise.

The villa is designed for open-plan living. The living room, dining area, kitchen and bedrooms look out onto tropical gardens and the 10m pool.

The ten-metre long pool has a removable pool fence that can be installed if you have children. The pool area has two sun beds with an umbrella. Beside the pool area is a gorgeous antique Timorese Bale with a day bed, perfect for relaxing after a busy day sightseeing or with a good book chosen from the extensive collection in the villa library. The villa also has an automatic washing machine, should you choose to do your own laundry. There are numerous laundries close by where you can drop off your laundry and collect it the following day. Villa Mangga is 5 to 20-minute walk from numerous great restaurants and warungs. Also within easy walking distance is a yoga centre, meditation centre and many spas. This villa is a perfect base from which to explore the quaint and interesting village of Penestanan, the shops, restaurants and night life of Ubud. Hire a driver for a day and go snorkelling off Candi Dasa or Amed. Villa Mangga is a perfect romantic getaway for couples or a comfortable home base for friends and family to share and enjoy.

Villa Damai is a newly designed 3-bedroom villa. It’s a luxurious haven for a couple or up to 6 guests. Just a stone’s throw away from rice paddies, this villa will provide the ultimate holiday experience.

The villa is built on 600m2 of land with a high wall around the extensive garden making the villa very secure and private. You can have days of decadence just sitting for hours on one of the terraces gazing upon the lush tropical gardens which are well maintained. Sit at the end of the terrace and be mesmerised looking down on the Koi/fish ponds. When you are ready for a swim, ease yourself into the 10m
pool which is just a few steps away. There is a cold water shower in the garden.

The main building is a large space with cathedral ceilings so the villa is airy and has a natural tropical ambiance. This space has an air-conditioned bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. The TV/ DVD area and living room has a comfortable day-bed where you can curl up to watch one of the multiple channels on TV or one of the DVDs provided. There are also comfortable armchairs. The kitchen is fully equipped with a two-burner plus wok burner cook top, large fridge/freezer, and a microwave oven. There is a formal six seater dining table adjacent to the kitchen. The windows in the living area are fly-screened and the large sliding doors at the front can be closed off
and locked to the outside world at night. I wide terrace stretches along the front on this building and a second dining table and chairs is located there.

A second building is located in the garden opposite the main building with the pool in between. This garden building houses 2 air conditioned bedrooms each with en-suite bathrooms and their own private terrace.

The entrance gate is also lockable. The villa has free fast unlimited WIFI access. There is a safe for your valuables. In the garden is a raised Timorese style bale (gazebo) with a daybed. This is the perfect setting for reading, relaxing, meditating or
enjoying a sundowner with friends.

Villa Damai is at the end of a cobbled path which branches off 100m down a concrete path from Jalan Raya, Penestanan Kelod, the nearby main road. The location ensures peace and privacy whilst being only a 20min walk (or a 5min taxi ride) from Ubud central. There is a diverse range of restaurants and warungs within walking distance and most will deliver food to your door for a small tip should you
wish to just kick back in the evening after a busy day. Penestanan has everything you would need without venturing very far including spas, artists studios, and galleries and there is light entertainment most evenings. (If you like late-night clubbing, however, you will need to find this in Ubud central.) There are some convenience shops the area, and a few cozy coffee venues along the rice field paths
where you can meet fellow travellers over a cappuccino.

Ari, the villa caretaker comes in daily to cook and serve you a tropical breakfast on the terrace before he cleans the villa and bale, looks after the fish pond and pool, tidies and waters the garden. He is also very willing to help you with any problems or requests you may have.
