Mimpi means ‘to dream’, and this Villa is the perfect place to do exactly that. This stunning private two-bedroom villa is set in a large, lush tropical garden in the village of Penestanan, just five minutes by taxi or a pleasant twenty-minute walk from the centre of Ubud.

The villa and garden are totally secluded and secure, fully surrounded by a high stone wall. The
property is on a six hundred square metre block, three times the size of many other villas in the area. Villa Mimpi is situated three hundred metres down a lane off the main street of Penestanan, at a junction of several small streams which is part of the “World Heritage listed Subak irrigation system”.

Antique carved doors lead from the lane way into a slice of paradise offering a relaxing and
rejuvenating break. Whether you laze in the thatched gazebo, swim in the sparkling pool, siesta
peacefully on the daybed in the living area or choose a book from our small library to read on the terrace overlooking the village, this is your villa to enjoy in complete seclusion.
Behind a second set of carved doors, the terrace is roofed and has comfortable furniture for
enjoying meals or sundowners. The terrace is private but provides a wonderful place to watch and
interact with the local people going about their daily lives. Within the garden, the ten metre
swimming pool is right next to the living area and bedrooms, perfect for a swim at any time of the day or night.

The villa consists of high-quality fittings offering a luxury home away from home and includes
recycled teak furniture, statues and art work. The owners visit several times a year and ensure
that everything is well maintained.

Villa staff will meet you when you arrive and carry your luggage down the path. They will reappear to make your breakfast at a pre-arranged time, discreetly clean and tidy the villa and pool. Penestanan is a lively farming village with many good inexpensive restaurants, cafes, food shops, motor bike hire and magical spas. Tourists are well catered for but there are still many more local people than visitors. There are endless small paths to explore through the village and surrounding rice fields. Morning walks are an ideal way to discover the quiet back-roads to neighbouring villages.
